PICK UP SCAM

The whole thing should be called Pick Up Scam, and these guys should title themselves Pick Up Scam-artists. Just for the record, not all pick up artists are crooks, some of them honestly believe in the absurd theories that they are promoting.

Seduction is nothing but the ultimate masculine dream. According to Islam there are 99 virgins awaiting a Muslim in heaven. The seduction gurus offer you haven right here on earth for only 99,95 bucks!

Money and women are the two things that men pursue most in the their lives. Some people would say men chase after money to get the women. No wonder most popular scams involve the promise of getting someone rich quick – proven methods to win the lottery, stock trading systems, make money online programs. The similarities are easy to notice. For a modest price of $ 99,95 you can materialize your dreams of getting all the women or money you desire. Isn’t that a beautiful fairy tale, the ultimate masculine dream? No wonder men prefer to believe in it, instead of taking a realistic approach.

If someone offers us a book titled “Get rich in 7 days guaranteed or your money back”, most of us will instinctively feel it must be a hustle. So why so many men were tricked into buying books titled something like “Seduction 101 – pick up any woman guaranteed or your money back”? Why they believe in everything some guys who humbly call themselves pick up artists tell them? If it is too good to be true, it probably is.

The beginning of the seduction community dates back to the 90s when Ross Jeffries began promoting his Neuro-Linguistic Programming stuff – “Speed Seduction” as he called it. The seduction community made great progress from being a derided niche subculture in the beginnings to an acclaimed worldwide movement present in mainstream media, a “science” that seems to be criticized by feminists only.

The problem is that the seduction community is indeed downright pathetic and cheesy. What’s worse it’s a lie used by marketing experts to profit from men who are unsuccessful with women. In fact these techniques are harmless to women, since it is a scam played on men, not women. And the only ones who complain are feminists!? Maybe they are jealous that someone else is screwing men?

The seduction scam is just like that football scam featured in one Simpsons episode. When Homer receives each week free betting advice booklets, and he is convinced those guys always bet on the winning team. He wants to pay for their advice. Lisa explains him that it’s just a scam: they send two versions of one edition of their advice booklet to all residents of a particular area. So there is always a part of the subscribers who receive only correct predictions. The Seduction scam is based on a similar trick – you study all their “wonderful” techniques:

  • if you pick up a pretty woman, they say: see it’s working! But it is impossible to verify whether the girl you approached would find you attractive even without all that seduction BS,
  • if you get rejected, they say: you need to practice more! Buy more of our stuff! Plus they cheer you up with motivating macho mantras.

Don’t buy that bullshit, don’t be a Homer!

Some people ask why loose time explaining how this scam works? There are many other similar scams and no one cares. The people who believe in it are probably so obsessed with getting women that they won’t listen, and those who consider seduction a fairy tale for desperate guys already know it. There is a huge difference between seduction and all other scams created so far: the mainstream media bought it! It never occurred to most people that seduction might be a scam, that it simply may not work at all. Its harshest critics only claim it disrespects women.

To be fair I must say that the guys who run the seduction businesses are geniuses – in the field of advertisement and marketing of course.

Another thing that suggests that we are dealing with a scam is the lack of any other application of this “science”, other than merely selling stuff to desperate frustrated men. Unbelievable! We are discussing a phenomenon that allegedly can help any man get any woman.

People say every discovery is first tested for military use. Sex has been used as a weapon in espionage since ancient times. Usually an attractive agent had some important figure of the hostile government wrapped around her little finger in order to gather classified information. Mata Hari was one of the most famous female spies to set a so called “honey trap” – or alleged spies, since the French government admitted after World War I that there had been no strong evidence against her. The soviet KGB established one of the most sophisticated special services in the world that trained female spies to pick up men. Not only women were recruited and trained to serve their countries as sex agents. The East German intelligence used male agents whose task was to get close to lonely West German female officials.

Does it have anything to do with seduction? No, they simply contracted attractive women and sometimes men. Enemy officials were after young pretty girls/handsome men. The intelligence probably trained such agents in a special way. Still the main bait was beauty, not “skills.”

Have you ever heard of any government projects involving seduction? Any corporation trying to use this amazing knowledge to profit from it (except for the purpose of profiting from seduction books and other bullshit they sell to horny men)? I haven’t heard of anything like that.

Someone may point out that many corporate psychologists recommend some confidence boosting techniques similar to those described by the playas in their works. That’s rather the opposite situation – the seduction community embraced techniques that were known for years. Basic psychology wrapped up in a package with the whole alpha male philosophy. That’s not the core of seduction. The main point of this “art” is the belief that a man using his skills is able to MAKE a woman feel sexually attracted to him.

This is a bit off topic, but if you enjoyed this website chances are you are also going to like „Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity: Get Out the Shovel – Why Everything You Know is Wrong” by John Stossel. The book is just what you could expect from the title. The author rips apart myths from different areas. The book covers topics from politics, economy and law, to science, health, and consumer issues. I am aware not all anti-gamers share Stossel’s libertarian views, yet the book is not only about abstract deliberations on politics or economy. It also includes reports on issues that can influence your day-to-day choices, such as – whether it makes sense to pay extra for the best coffee brands, car fuel or dog food.
